Isla's New York | Little Big City Bird
While waiting in Central Park for Isla to wake up from the longest nap ever, this little bird kept me company.

Isla's New York | Playground City
Puffy hearts and unicorn manes all around on the abundance of play spaces throughout the boroughs of New York. We had such a great routine those first days on our own of milk, nap-while-I-strolled, wake up, play for a bit and then carry on our merry way.
Waving hi to all the kids.
Heart broken yet again on my focus fail… But if that’s the last image to flash through my mind...

Isla's New York | Shopping the Union Square...
One of *my* favourite things about New York is the abundance of modern craft markets and veritable Etsy-on-demand types of offerings. While I couldn’t get my usual fix of Saturday and Sunday markets this time around, Isla and I were able to soak in many of the handmade wares at the various holiday markets around town operating throughout the week.

Isla's New York | Like the scene in Amelie
This was just like the scene in Amelie, my most favourite of movies, where she takes the blind man by the arm and tells him everything that’s going on around them as they cross the street.

Isla's New York | Chelsea Hustle
C met us one day while we headed further downtown and she was out to nab some lunch. Isla insisted on being attached to her hip and repeated “what’s this?” all the way back to C’s office.

Isla's New York | Little Mimic
My view | Sidewalk, NYC
As any parent knows, children are sponges, mimics and copy cats. Isla has been at this for some time but nowhere was the speed of which she’d pick up on these actions so clear and obvious as New York.
When a cab honked, she would ‘oof’ in the best way she knew how. Every. Single. Time.
When a dog was lead by its faithful owner past her pram, she would...

"Isla... You know it's midnight, right?"
This conversation just happened.
Sleep strikes suck.

So, the last time I had Isla in New York...
I looked like this. That was somewhere around 36 weeks or so and I remember being most disappointed I wasn’t closer to term so I could birth me a New Yorker. (Can you imagine? Made in Tokyo. Born in Manhattan. I’d call her International Isla.) (No, I wouldn’t.) (I’d call her Import/Export.) (No, I wouldn’t do that either.)
At any rate, she stayed tethered that...
Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!
One week today, we’ll be at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!
My bestie is flying up tomorrow to celebrate our other bestie’s bachelorette bash and then Isla and I will be flying home with her to NYC on Sunday afternoon for a week in my real home Manhattan. *Squees* all around!
I’m not really a parade girl, but I’m bouncing off the walls with excitement to take...
My goal of cleaning out my Inbox
before leaving for NYC on Sunday is looking pretty grim at this rate.
2,395 unread* emails. 4,3682 total.
I say ‘unread*’ because I’ve read most of them on my iPhone. I just can’t figure out how to sync my desktop Inbox with my Gmail account online and my iPhone all at once. It’s so frustrating and, every single time I think “okay, I’m going to do this...
Sickies Abound
I guess it’s that time of year but, for the first time in ages, all three of us are sick over here. It’s making the task of getting through the day successfully seem laborious and seemingly impossible along the way.
What’s new? Blahhhhhhhhhhh. I don’t even know! How exciting, eh?!
Isla’s tummy issues were all sorted and solved, so it seemed, and then she had a...
Cake Monster
Isla’s birthday may have started something. Namely, her love affair with baked goods. What can I say… She gets this from me. Nommmmm….
It was Mason’s second birthday on Hallowe’en day and Isla made her way to the cake table in lickety split fashion. She just knew…
Stealth like entrance…
“Oh, HAI THURRRR!”
“You haz the...
Make it?! I wish!
Unfortunately October was a month o’ ridiculous due to overbooking in every aspect of our life. I waved the white flag early on that making her costume the way I wanted to wasn’t going to pan out, so I picked up the Gnome outfit from Target! It was the best $20 I’ve spent in a long time.
And Isla had a co-hort - David over here was the Mr. to her Mrs. as far as lawn ornaments...
Our Lil' Gnome | Hallowe'en Wrap-Up
I can’t believe it’s THURSDAY already!?! When did that happen?!?! The Garden Gnome costume was retired to its rightful spot in her memory box Monday, but before it went, I just needed to snap a few more pics.
“I’m one!”
This just makes me want eggs…
