Whoopie Pie For One
My awesomely amazing friend Josie also spent her maternity leave starting a business. She’s opening a bakery, however, which is a lot more complicated than my business will ever be, and I couldn’t be prouder. Truly, she’s amazing. Today they had a ‘Cake + Dough’ community fundraiser; we were there all afternoon and were supposed to be back tonight for the concert...

You know, I actually considered relaxing...
Hamish is out for a bit. I haven’t had a full night’s sleep in over a month. I have a very full weekend coming up. I have a very full week coming up. There’s a tub of ice cream in the freezer. All of these reasons were enough to make me consider putting my feet up, grabbing the laptop to reply to the remaining stack of sweet letters from all of you about Isla, and just...

I’m going to test again in two hours, not four just in case!! Night! Morning! Whatever it is!!! :) xo

10 Thoughts on March 10th
I couldn’t keep up with #10on10 today. First, I lost track of what day it was! Then, I lost track of time! We were stuck in the time/space continuum of the hospital all day with follow up appointments for Isla’s diabetes. That little “Who? ME?” face in the bottom corner there? Yeah, she had a few meltdowns. Apparently the memory of that building has not faded yet. So,...

Isla! How she is :)
We haven’t even hit a full month since Isla’s diagnosis and, while some lingering signs remain of the trauma her little self went through — not to mention the shell shock still settling in the hearts of our family and friends — I’m thrilled to say that things are only getting better and better. Yesterday we visited the hospital again for a two and a half hour long...
