sick for two whole weeks, thought she was mended. barely 10 minutes into our drive + … another eventful day in the making! I’ll let you all deduce the necessity of Isla wearing my tank top following an emergency road side pull-over… da-na-da-da-da-DA! jazz hands! we sure know how to wrack up answers for when people ask “so, how’s your day?!” ha! <3 we had a laugh <3

I know we’re not supposed to treat your kids like dolls. + I don’t. I swearit. promise. but every once in a while. when her back is turned + I’ve just braided her hair. I think. “OHMYGAWD - she’s such a doll. I grew up + now I have a doll.” truth.

je suis delirious today. zzzz.

on saturdays, she can pick her own outfit from scratch, do her own hair + play in my make-up. I like saturdays.

shoe gazing in shame. drove Isla an hour down the highway to her grandparents for the weekend + I FORGOT TO PACK HER DIABETES KIT. JUST IN TIME FOR LUNCH. one day into her third year of diagnosis + I’m in child endangerment territory. awesomesauce. thankfully my self-loathing tears at the local pharmacy, they made me a new one despite her prescription not saying so. argh. argh. argh. so much for “making it” yesterday!!! ha! :’)

we made it :’) six years ago, we lost my beloved grandad + gosh darn it, two years ago on that very same day, we almost lost Isla to type1 diabetes. it’s been a blur. a blessed blur, but a blur. so here’s to our second ‘diaversary’ with my daughter, my hero, my muse :’) may there one day be a cure + may we laugh n’ love lots while we search xo

that awkward moment when you stop to take a photo of street art before you realize the cam is in reverse. followed by the awkward moment when you panic your car’s been stolen only to remember you parked an extra block away. followed by the glorious moment you ditch your coat for the drive home because it’s 8degrees + that’s as good as summer in this town. :D

never a dull day! braved the roads only to find the heat busted + snow *inside* the studio! so… if anyone’s looking for a dr. zhivago themed session… we’ve got your back ;)

do I gently correct + tell her it’s on backwards? do I let her revel in the accomplishment of self? parenting is herrrrrd werrrrk!
